Thank you SO much for checking out my blog! 

I am starting this blog for both myself as well as for those that I teach. My name is Braxton Alexander Porter, a musician, an educator, a pupil, an uncle, a dog dad from Southern California. I grew up playing violin and eventually bassoon. Later I went to school for bassoon performance and music education. Throughout this time, you could say I have picked up a few tricks that I pull out every once in a while at parties or concert venues. 

My goal with this blog is to help myself as well as provide a place for my students, and really anyone that can take from what I am doing, to see me going through my processes. Being a musician is a lifelong endeavor that once planted in our hearts can grow into a beautiful tree. I am INCREDIBLY thankful for that seed that was planted in my heart even before I knew it was there. 

If you are reading this, again, welcome! Some things I want you to know, I love you, you are so loved, you are so talented, you are skilled, you can do anything that you put your mind to. Those are things that we do not hear enough every day and I desperately want you to know those things.
